Trident has announced the introduction of the first 2.2in TFT LCD display from Hitachi This new compact screen offers a high quality viewing experience for users of handheld devices, even when in diverse and harsh environments

The TX06D57VM0AAA available from Trident presents outstanding resolution on its 2.2in screen and provides clear and vivid images in multiple devices from every day personal use items to the industrial and retail sectors.

The new displays feature an in-plane-switching (IPS) mode system, which creates a distinguishably wider viewing angle of 160 degrees, both horizontally and vertically making them ideal for viewing sharp and vibrant images on EPOS, ID and data capture devices, medical devices, navigation systems, industrial test and measurement devices and handheld mobile devices.

Hitachi's first ever 2.2in quarter-VGA TFT LCD module has a high resolution of 240 x 320 pixel and a brightness of 220cd/m2.

The TX06D57VM0AAA offers wide operating temperatures between -20 to +70C and a WTR LED backlight giving excellent viewing conditions in any indoor or outdoor environment.

The module outline dimensions are 39.8 x 56.1 x 2.7mm.

The 256K colour screen has contrast ratio of 250:1 and a colour saturation NTSC ratio of 50%.

The TX06D57VM0AAA is fully RoHS compliant and unusually for this market segment, Hitachi is guaranteeing product availability for this module for at least three years in order to satisfy the long term product planning requirements of customers.
