The VIA EPIA SN is the first to provide the added flexibility of a 16-lane PCI-Express port for interfacing bandwidth-intensive graphics cards.

Trident has released the Vista-ready VIA EPIA SN series from VIA With a 1.8GHz VIA C7 processor, four SATA II ports and PCI-Express, the VIA EPIA SN provides up to 30% increased performance over previous EPIA mainboards

The VIA EPIA SN also comes with the latest built in trusted platform module (TPM) which alleviates security concerns of customers in sensitive markets.

The VIA EPIA SN is the first to provide the added flexibility of a 16-lane PCI-Express port for interfacing bandwidth-intensive graphics cards.

With four SATA II ports, two LAN ports (1x10/100 + 1xGbit) and wireless support, the VIA EPIA SN has the storage and network versatility to suit developers of NAS, digital signage and POS units.

A fanless 1GHz model is also available, suitable for applications that require silent operation or passive cooling.

Digital signage and POS developers are able to take advantage of expansion cards that can support DVI and LVDS displays digitally, while the option of an additional four COM ports is beneficial to the POS market sector.

Trident is also able to supply Microsoft Windows Vista with Embedded Restrictions and the VIA CN896 chipset on the SN board has been certified by Microsoft to guarantee a reliable and trouble-free installation of Windows Vista.

The VIA EPIA SN can support 4Gbyte of energy-efficient DDR2 667 system memory.
