High-brightnes high-contrast monitor is ideal for maritime applications such as radar, navigation, automatic identification, monitoring and surveillance systems.

New from Trident is the LX Mariner monitor from Planar, which is ideally suited for marine environments where sun, moisture and fog create challenges for viewing and durability of standard off-the-shelf displays The LX1201PTI is a 12.1in display, with 8.4 and 15in versions scheduled to be available in July 2008

The LX1201PTI, features an XGA 1024 x 768 resolution, a sealed enclosure that is IP65 rated, and a wide viewing angle of 130 degrees horizontally and 115 degrees vertically.

An infra-red touchscreen is optically bonded to the monitor's TFT display; this method of bonding helps to reduce loss of clarity to the display.

With a brightness of 800cd/m2, the 12.1in screen also features a contrast ratio of 600:1, and an antiglare coating to enable sunlight readability.

These products are ideal for maritime applications in particular radar, navigation, automatic identification, monitoring and surveillance systems.
