Precision instrument specialist H Tinsley has introduced the ZY9858 digital micro-ohmmeter.

Precision instrument specialist H Tinsley has introduced the ZY9858 digital micro-ohmmeter.

This unit benefits from the technology used in the company's established precision instruments but has a rationalised specification, to provide an instrument that will meet most R and D, QA inspection, laboratory, production and test requirements.

Its scope covers cable joints, earth bonds, switches, motors, transformers, generators, conductor resistance and other applications.

The unit has a maximum test current of 10A and provides resistance measurement over seven selectable ranges from 2mohm to 2kohm with readout on a 4.5-digit LED.

A resolution of 0.1uohm means that the instrument is suitable for precision measurement of low resistance.

A four-terminal measurement method eliminates errors that would normally occur due to test lead resistance, and the circuitry used achieves measurement much faster than traditional bridge techniques.

Internal digital calibration is provided and each unit is supplied with a certificate of conformity.

Safety features provide protection when measuring inductive devices such as transformers and electric motors.

The instrument is supplied with Kelvin type test leads.
