Low-cost resistance measurement with accuracy
Precision instrument specialist Tinsley has introduced a range of resistance measurement instruments providing high accuracy and reliability at an economical price.
It incorporates a cable condition monitor so that any changes in the submarine cable's electrical characteristics are automatically detected and an alarm is triggered.
This alarm output can also be connected to external devices.
The unit can be connected to the submarine cable at the terminal station via a dedicated cable connected to the fibre-optic cable's metallic conductor.
Alternatively, the fibre-optic cable can be routed into the unit with a direct path through for the optical fibres.
The 5941 has a wide range of operation and is therefore suitable for any cable system without repeaters.
