New from Sunonwealth of Taiwan is the highly efficient PMB series of blowers, available in 12, 24 and 48V DC versions from UK agent Thermaco.

There are 26 variations in the PMB series; these deliver ten specific airflows between 7.5 and a massive 40.23ft3/min.

Noise figures for the series, which can be lowered to almost a whisper by employing speed regulation according to temperature, vary from 28 to 56.5dBA.

The PMB series has ten 12V DC options, which run at speeds between 1900 and 3600rev/min and consume between 0.08 and 0.82A; ten 24V DC versions also run between 1900 and 3600rev/min but consume 0.05 to 0.57A, whereas the six 48V DC blowers operate at 2100 to 3600rev/min and draw 0.12 to 0.32A.

The scroll and impeller employ a UL94V0 glass-filled plastic in their construction, and integrated electronics ensure quiet commutation of the DC motor.

Polarity and locked rotor protection plus automatic restart are standard features, and frequency or rotation detection are offered as options across the range.

Typical applications for the PMB blowers include: cooling servers, network/communication products, copying machines, projectors and industrial equipment.

With the addition of more products planned to extend the range including high temperature variations designed to run at up to 90C, the PMB series is likely to feature highly in the design of many OEM systems.
