"Get started: navigate the open source community", on 7th March 2006, will show new embedded Linux developers how to navigate the open source community to find the software, tools, projects and repositories needed to create a Linux configuration suitable for an embedded target.
"Get running: create a kernel and root file system for your evaluation board", on 14th March 2006, will teach tips and tricks behind creating a kernel and root file system designed for use in an embedded target.
Delegates will learn how to minimise the root file system size and configure the kernel and RFS to perform kernel, module and application debugging.
"Get control: integrate real-time extensions into your embedded Linux platform", on 21st March 2006, will lead delegates through an example development project to showcase how real-time extensions can be used and integrated into an embedded Linux distribution.
And "Get up-to-date: enable field upgradeability of your embedded device" on 28th March 2006, will guide delegates through the process of designing a Linux configuration enabling the addition, removal or upgrade of services and applications after deployment.
To illustrate this capability, the host will lead delegates through the process of creating a root file system using ipkg as a run-time package management platform.
All webinars begin at 1800 GMT (1800 BST for the event on 28th March 2006), and interested parties must register on the TimeSys website to take part.
