CMSE Europe 2006 features a programme of workshops and technical sessions addressing the latest issues being encountered in the supply of electronics for military and space systems.

The 2006 CMSE Europe, Components for Military and Space Electronics Conference and Exhibition, has an excellent programme of workshops and technical sessions addressing the latest issues being encountered in the supply of electronics for military and space systems.

This assembly of industry experts will give 27 presentations which address the following topics and other critical issues: experience with the use of COTS for military designs; the real impact of the RoHS (Pb free solder) directives on military production and reliability; how integrated circuit scaling threatens the use of commercial components and COTS for military applications; components selection and application practices for reliable electronics in military environments; and reliability and testing practices for COTS, PEMs, up-screening, qualification, life monitoring of COTS and eliminating flex failures in multilayer ceramic capacitors.

In addition there are two workshops on the critical topics of: "Design for failure avoidance in military electronics", presented by Dr Nathan Blattau of DfR Solutions; and "Issues and solutions with lead free solder in military applications", presented by five European peer speakers.

The CMSE Europe Conference and Exhibition runs from 27th to 29th June 2006 in Portsmouth, UK.
