Graphics card incorporates hardware monitoring

A Tyan Computer product story
Edited by the Electronicstalk editorial team Aug 14, 2003

The Tachyon G9800 Pro-M is the only ATI Radeon 9800 based graphics card in the world with hardware monitoring.

The Tachyon G9800 Pro-M is the newest graphics accelerator from Tyan with industry-unique features such as hardware monitoring, fan speed control, advanced cooling system, and overclocking support.

Using the newest version of the Tyan Graphics Monitor (TGM v3.0), the Tachyon G9800 Pro-M is the only graphics card in the market which allows the advanced gamer such control and flexibility.

Among its many features, the new Tachyon G9800 Pro-M comes equipped with fan speed control for lower noise levels, an advanced cooling system with a large heatsink for improved VPU protection against overheating.

This is possible without any risk, because the temperature level of the graphic processor is permanently controlled and in case that defined safety margins are hit, the fan is automatically set at maximum, insuring that no harm comes to the VPU.

The G9800 Pro-M is equipped with an eight parallel rendering pipelines process for up to 3Gpixel/s and four parallel geometry engines to deliver 380 million polygons with the same time.

This is possible because it features a 380MHz graphics processor and 128Mbyte of DDR memory with a 256bit memory interface.

Naturally it comes with support for Microsoft DirectX 9.0 and OpenGL.

"The Tachyon G9800 PRO-M delivers an immersive, cinematic experience for today's most demanding games", said Crystal Chang, Manager of the Tachyon product line.

"Tyan exceeds expectations by incorporating powerful features to expand the possibilities of gaming.

With capabilities such as fan speed control and a developed cooling system, the user is free to push the limits of the traditional graphics accelerator".

The Tachyon G9800 Pro-M will reach mass production in August.
