Sales surge sees expansion for Torex
Buoyed by increasing sales activity, Torex Semiconductor Europe has relocated its European headquarters.
Buoyed by increasing sales activity, Torex Semiconductor Europe has relocated its European headquarters from the Loughborough Business Centre to The Whitwick Business Park in nearby Coalville, Leicestershire.
The new premises provide 162m2 of much needed office and warehouse space.
For the second-quarter of 2002 Torex reported a 60% increase in global sales over the same period in 2001.
According to Torex Semiconductor Europe's Managing Director, Gareth Henson: "With the European operation enjoying similar growth a move into new larger premises was essential to meet the company's expansion plans for the coming years".
Extra office space for additional staff was not the only factor behind the move.
"We needed larger premises to be able to accommodate more of the logistics that are currently handled by our parent company in Japan", commented Andy Scott, Torex Semiconductor Europe's marketing manager.
"This will allow us to provide closer support for our European distributors and customers without them having to wait for Japan's working day to begin".
A new internal sales co-ordinator, Helen Bishop, joined the company on 1st September with the responsibility of directly supporting Torex's European distributor network.
Further additions to the Torex team are expected over the coming months.
