Torex Semiconductor Europe has finalised an agreement with Silver Birch Marketing (SBM), appointing SBM as its new representative for the UK and Ireland.

Based in Buckden, Cambridgeshire, SBM was set up in 1994 by director Ian McAteer and currently employs ten people.

Torex Europe's MD, Gareth Henson, firmly believes that one of SBM's strengths lies in its excellent customer relationships and its good understanding of power management applications: "Ian and his field sales team are a very professional group with an impressive track record.

It is all the more impressive when you think it has been achieved in just eight years.

I see the relationship between Torex and SBM being a long and prosperous one".

Ian McAteer also believes that SBM and Torex will work successfully together: "I was very impressed with Torex's power management IC range and the company's new product road map.

We have a lot of experience with the analogue IC market owing to our past work with Dallas and Sipex.

We see Torex fulfilling an important niche in the UK market".

SBM will work closely with Torex's UK distributor, Flint Distribution of Coalville, Leicestershire.
