LDOs tolerate 28V inputs
CMOS LDO regulators are ideally suited to industrial and other applications where nominal 24V supplies are commonly encountered.
Designed to operate with input voltages as high as 28V, CMOS LDO regulators in the new XC6216 range from Torex are ideally suited to industrial and other applications where nominal 24V supplies are commonly encountered In addition, the new regulators consume only 5uA in normal operation, falling to a minuscule 0.1uA in standby mode, making them an attractive option wherever efficiency and power economy are key requirements

Torex unveils PLL clock generator ICs
Torex Semiconductor has introduced the XC25BS8 Series of PLL clock generator ICs with built-in crystal oscillator circuit, divider circuit and multiplier PLL circuit.
Available in a wide range of SMT and PIH packages, Torex XC6216 regulators offer exceptionally effective ripple rejection - typically 40dB at 1kHz.
They are suitable for use in conjunction with low ESR ceramic capacitors, thereby eliminating the potential reliability problems associated with electrolytic and tantalum components.
As a further aid to reliability, the regulators provide integral current limit and thermal shutdown features to protect them when operating under adverse conditions.
XC6216B and XC6216D (no CE pin) regulators in the range can be supplied with output voltages factory set anywhere from 2.0 to 12V in 100mV increments.
With XC6216C regulators, users can set the output voltage themselves by using external resistors and, for these types, the setting range is from 2.0 to 23V.
The maximum output current for all versions is typically 200mA.
An extended operating temperature range (-40 to +85C) version, XE6216 is also under development which will be well suited to applications where wide temperature variations are inevitable.
All LDO regulators in the new XC6216 range from Torex suitable for use with inputs from 2.0 to 28V, with an absolute maximum input voltage of 30V, and all have a dropout voltage of 300mV when delivering an output of 20mA.
