First 7.7-inch low-temp polysilicon LCD for eBooks
Toshiba today announced commercialisation of a 7.7-in low-temperature polysilicon TFT LCD designed for mid-size electronic book devices incorporating Microsoft ClearType display technology
The latest phase of this programme now focuses on CISC microcontrollers for the five key areas of: LCD appliances, motor control systems, handheld information equipment, industrial control systems and general-purpose applications.
The new application-focused "Designs and More" programme combines minimum-lead-time access to Toshiba's 4, 8, 16 and 32bit CISC microcontroller devices with commitment to additional development tools, engineering support and documentation.
To further reduce customer design cycle times, Toshiba can also offer a number of application examples and reference designs.
Discussing the evolution of the Designs and More programme, Peter Lieberwirth, Toshiba's senior manager for Microcomputer, Automotive and Consumer IC Marketing, comments: "Ongoing requirements to minimise time-to-market leads to demands for engineers to drastically reduce cycle times.
The Designs and More programme can help to address these demands by providing all of the hardware, software and support tools needed to rapidly design, prototype and implement the most popular applications using the latest CISC microcontroller devices".
