First 7.7-inch low-temp polysilicon LCD for eBooks
Toshiba today announced commercialisation of a 7.7-in low-temperature polysilicon TFT LCD designed for mid-size electronic book devices incorporating Microsoft ClearType display technology
The new devices consist of an infrared emitting diode that is optically coupled to a photo-mosfet.
TLP172A and TLP222A devices use a GaAs LED, have a peak off state voltage of 60V, and are ideally suited to higher current applications including PLCs and magnetic solenoid control.
The TLP172G and TLP222G photorelays use an AlGaAs LED, have a peak off-state voltage of 350V, and can be used to replace conventional electromechanical relay solutions in applications including multiplexers.
Trigger LED current in all cases is 3mA.
Both the TLP172A and TLP172G are 4-pin surface mount SOP devices offering minimum isolation voltage ratings of 1500V RMS.
The TLP222A and TLP222G photorelays are supplied in compact 4-pin DIL packages and have minimum isolation ratings of 2500V RMS.
Toshiba is also offering dual-channel versions of the TLP222 parts (TLP222A-2 and TLP222G-2) in 8-pin DIL packages.
Maximum on-state currents for the TLP172A, TLP172G, TLP222A and TLP222G parts are rated at 400, 110, 500 and 120mA, respectively.
Both the TLP172A and TLP172G have dimensions of 4.4 x 3.9 x 2.1mm, whereas the TLP222A and TLP222G measure 6.4 x 4.6 x 3.7mm.
Dual channel TLP222A photorelays have dimensions of 9.7 x 6.4 x 3.7mm.
All the new photorelays are rated for operation from -40 to +85C.
