MiniSD card line expands to 2Gbyte
A new 2Gbyte miniSD card can provide the combination of size, versatility and high capacity storage needed to address the image and audio requirements of high-end handsets.
Toshiba Electronics Europe (TEE) has announced an expanded line-up of large capacity miniSD memory cards with the introduction of a 2Gbyte capacity card The new Toshiba-branded miniSD card will be available from mid-June 2006

Toshiba Electronics Europe has launched a flash microcontroller specifically designed to meet the needs of modern home appliance applications including washing machines, dryers, and dishwashers.
At just 20.0 x 21.5 x 1.4mm, the miniSD card is much smaller than a standard SD memory card.
Its primary application is mobile devices with miniSD slots, although it can also be used in standard SD card memory slots through the use of a suitable adapter.
A key market for the new card will be mobile phones, which increasingly offer high-resolution cameras and support for digital music.
The 2Gbyte card can provide the combination of size, versatility and high capacity storage needed to address the image and audio requirements of these phones.
Toshiba's new card offers a maximum write speed of 5Mbyte/s and can store up to 35 hours of music.
The card uses the CPRM (copyright protection for recordable media) advanced copyright protection functionality.
