Microcontroller meets needs of modern appliances
Toshiba Electronics Europe has launched a flash microcontroller specifically designed to meet the needs of modern home appliance applications including washing machines, dryers, and dishwashers.
The Toshiba TLWK1100B is supplied in a standard PLCC2 surface mount package which measures just 3.2 x 2.9 x 1.9mm.
Potential applications for the new device include panel indication, LCD backlighting and the replacement of incandescent lamps in certain lighting applications.
A robust design and an operating temperature range of -40 to +100C also make the TLWK1100B ideal for automotive lighting designs.
The new LED has employed a combination of a blue InGaN LED and yellow-emitting phosphor to provide the high brightness white light output.
The device offers efficient operation with maximum power dissipation of just 114mW, and typical forward voltage (VF) is 3.2V.
