Microcontroller meets needs of modern appliances
Toshiba Electronics Europe has launched a flash microcontroller specifically designed to meet the needs of modern home appliance applications including washing machines, dryers, and dishwashers.
In addition, it is expected that designers will choose these compact devices for space-limited designs that require high-brightness LCD backlighting.
The new LED is able to deliver typical performance of 35 lumen/W, thanks to a low thermal resistance package that provides improved heat release characteristics.
Typical forward voltage for the new device is rated at 3.4V (at a forward current of 250mA).
A wide operating temperature range of -40 to +100C ensures suitability for a broad range of commercial, domestic, industrial and automotive applications.
Designed for use with automated lead-free (Pb-free) production lines, the new surface mount device is compatible with reflow soldering processes at temperatures up to 260C.
