Low-dropout CMOS regulators feature high ripple rejection ratio, low quiescent current, and very low output noise voltage.

Toshiba Electronics Europe (TEE) has expanded its family of low drop out (LDO) voltage regulators with a new series of CMOS devices that offer high ripple rejection ratio, low quiescent current, and very low output noise voltage Available with output voltages from 1.5 to 5.0V, devices in this LDO regulator family (TCR5SBxx series) deliver a maximum output current of 200mA and are supplied in a SOT25 (SMV) package

Toshiba's new LDO regulators have a low typical quiescent current of 40uA and a dropout voltage of just 85mV (at 50mA).

The excellent ripple rejection of 80dB at 1kHz is independent of output voltage.

This makes the LDO especially suitable for power supply applications that are very sensitive to variations in supply voltage (such as RF ICs).

Additionally, without external noise bypass capacitors an ultralow output noise voltage rating of just 30uV RMS - independent of output current - is achieved.

The combination of size, output current, ripple rejection and output noise voltage ratings - plus the excellent input and output transient behaviour - makes the new regulators ideal power supply solutions in Bluetooth devices, cameras, personal audio players, mobile phones and other portable and handheld battery-powered applications.

All products in the TCR5SBxx series offer an on/off control function and built in overcurrent protection to further enhance design flexibility and minimise external component count.
