Heat-seal systems put LCDs in place
A-Tec heat-seal systems provide a versatile and reliable production method for joining LCDs to flex circuits and LCDs to PCBs for mobile phones, automobiles and other consumer product applications.
The new family of A-Tec heat-seal systems is available from assembly and production specialist Acal TC.
Manufactured in the UK, the new range of machines provides a versatile and reliable production method for joining LCDs to flex circuits and LCDs to PCBs for mobile phones, laptop computers, automobiles and other consumer product applications.
The new Unitek, Uniflow based heat-seal system features a fully integrated, fast moving, pneumatic rotary turntable and high precision motorised head, guaranteeing high volume repeatability and faster throughput by enabling the operator to simultaneously load and process parts.
High precision linear guides guarantee repeatable thermode placement to within hundredths of a millimetre, and are designed to withstand the high forces encountered in the heat-seal process, without deformation.
Acal TC supplies a complete range of thermode hot bars to suit every application and provide optimal flatness during heating and consistent temperature distribution over the entire bonding area.
Custom configurations, including vision systems and fully automated interlayer modules are also available.
The new range incorporates the Uniflow "pulsed heat technology" control for heat sealing, conductive adhesive bonding, and hot bar reflow soldering applications.
The Uniflow features an easy-to-use graphical user interface which allows accurate programming of preheat, rise and heating time and temperature.
The graphics display also shows real time temperature during the heating cycle.
Data output to PC or multiple unit hook-up via RS485 is standard on all units for added process control.
The Uniflow will store 15 heating profiles giving flexibility for different product types.
Process alarms counters and automation-ready I/O provide a turnkey solution for high volume automated applications.
