Carrier packet engine cuts consumption
The TPX3103 can provide a maximum nonblocking, full duplex switching capacity of 52Gbit/s allowing a maximum of 48x 1Gbit/s or 4x 10Gbit/s Ethernet ports.
This resulted in new business being generated at the show with a number of concrete projects agreed with new customers.
Exhibiting for the first time in North America, the centrally placed Tpack stand attracted many visitors and a lot of attention.
Tpack's 10Gbit/s NG-Sonet/SDH solution attracted most attention with projects for both the TPW192-S 10Gbit/s NG-Sonet/SDH mapper and the TPX3000 40Gbit/s carrier packet engine solution agreed at the show.
Tpack was also among the first companies to receive MEF 14 certification for this solution, presented at the show.
However, there were also project discussions involving the TPW48-P 2.5Gbit/s packet mapper for NG-PDH and NG-Sonet/SDH, as well as considerable interest in Tpack's collaboration with Enigma Semiconductor on a 2Tbit/s carrier class packet switch fabric solution with advanced quality of service.
Tpack also announced a new agreement where Altera will promote Tpack's third-generation solutions worldwide through its sales and marketing organisation.
This will provide customers with a "one-stop-shop" for Tpack solutions including Altera devices.
