TRL Compliance Services has been appointed by the UK Department of Trade and Industry as a Notified Body under the ATEX Directive.

The appointment covers product type examination, certification and control of production.

Some of the key benefits to industry of this new appointment are: more resource in the ATEX certification market; a fresh and modern approach to the certification of ATEX equipment; one-stop compliance solutions across a range of test disciplines and directives; offices across the UK and partner organisations in the USA; and faster access to key domestic and export markets.

TRL Compliance Services Ltd is an established UK test and certification organisation, specialising in the field of electrical and electronic products.

Partner arrangements give access to certification for EMC, radio and safety for a number of countries including the USA, Canada and Russia.

From the perspective of CE marking and European certification, the company has responded to the needs of industry by obtaining, as new directives are enacted, the necessary accreditation and appointments.

Under the CE mark regime, the company is already a Competent Body under the EMC Directive and a Notified Body under the Low Voltage Directive and R and TTE Directive.

The addition of test and certification for the ATEX industry is an enhancement to these existing services.
