TrendChip Technologies has released its next-generation ADSL2+ chipset, combining the TC3162L2H/P2H ADSL2+ processor with the TC3086 analogue front end Intended for use in customer premise equipment, the new chipset offers TR-100 performance, wire-speed routing throughput, enhanced features and the best price-performance ratio, targeting to ADSL2+ bridge, router and Wi-Fi gateway applications

TrendChip's TC3162L2H/P2H is a high performance ADSL2+ CPE processor with enhanced DMT structure and optimised cache architecture which provides high processing power, enhanced impulse noise protection capability for IPTV, advanced IP routing and bridging functionalities, best-in-class quality of service support, and high throughput performance.
In addition, the new Serial Peripheral Interface Flash boot-up feature allows customers to adopt serial Flash memory and helps lower the memory component cost.
By adding a second UART interface, designers can easily connect to new peripherals like Bluetooth and DECT cordless chips to develop value-added applications.
The TC3086 is a high-performance CMOS analogue front end with an integrated line driver which provides a lower-cost, lower-power and higher performance solution to satisfy emerging DSL Forum TR-100 requirements as well as all legacy ADSL1/2/2+ standards, including ITU- T G.992.x Annex A, B, I, J, M and L.

The TC3162L2H is available in an LQFP-128 for wired bridge/router applications, and the TC3162P2H is available in a PQFP-208 package for Wi-Fi ADSL2+ gateway solutions.
TrendChip provides the industry's most cost-effective wired bridge/router and 802.11g Wi-Fi ADSL2+ gateway designs by using two-layer PCBs and SPI Flash for cost-sensitive emerging markets.
By offering a completed hardware/software turnkey reference design, customers can significantly reduce their efforts and time to market.
Engineering samples of the TC3162L2H/P2H and TC3086 are currently available, with production ramp-up planned for Q4 2007.
