Longstanding partnership to expand in China
Based on the resounding success of their long-term collaboration in the Chinese market, Trumpf and SiberHegner will launch a 50:50 venture to sell Trumpf products in the Chinese market.
Based on the resounding success of their long-term collaboration in the Chinese market, German machine tool and laser manufacturer Trumpf and Swiss firm SiberHegner, a leading marketing and services group, are launching their joint venture Trumpf SiberHegner, effective 1 July 2002.
This 50/50 cooperative undertaking will be managing distribution and after-sales service for Trumpf products in a dynamically developing market.
Trumpf SiberHegner will initiate operations in China and Hong Kong with several agencies and approximately 20 distribution, service and application centres.
Up to this point, SiberHegner represented Trumpf in the region independently and exclusively.
The objective of the cooperation between Trumpf and SiberHegner is to respond more effectively to the requirements of the rapidly expanding Chinese market and to further increase its commitment in China.
Dr.Eva Schwinghammer has been appointed head of Trumpf SiberHegner.
The South East Asia scholar has had several years' experience in sales and marketing at Trumpf Werkzeugmaschinen in Ditzingen.
Partners since 1995, Trumpf is pleased to solidify its alliance with SiberHegner which has been active in the Chinese market for more than 100 years.
With offices in Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Shanghai and Peking, SiberHegner has increased sales of Trumpf products in China by more than 50 percent during the past three years.
Since 2000, Trumpf has produced high-quality sheet metal parts in the Chinese market through the establishment of Trumpf Sheet Metal Products (Taicang) Co near Shanghai.
The facility is also a customer presentation and application centre.
"With our newly founded distribution and service company in the Chinese market, we are expecting increased utilization of high-quality sheet metal fabrication machinery as well as even better support for our customers," Professor Berthold Leibinger, Managing Partner of the Trumpf Group, said at the signing of the joint venture contract.
