"We took nearly 650 enquiries on the stand," MD Brian Lewis confirms.
"And the quality of visitors was excellent - it was better than we expected." Two machines featuring heavily in the follow-up phase are both prize winners.
Interest has been strong in the Trumpf TC5000 punch press that was judged to be the Best Forming and Fabricating Machine Tool in the Metalworking Production 2002 Awards.
The Trumatic L3050 flat bed laser machine has also struck a chord with manufacturers looking for the optimum machine for cutting both thin and thick materials.
This machine won the Machine Tool category in the French Trophee de I'Industrie 2002 Awards.
From the 200 applications submitted, the judges selected the L3050 for its significant potential to cut production costs and boost productivity.
