The new series has been designed for use under overlays in membrane keyboards or under individual keycaps.
The new Micon 5 has an extremely small footprint (minimum grid spacing 5.72 x 7.95mm) but still offers a very distinct tactile feedback and an unmistakable high-quality operating sound.
The actuation forces vary among the different types in a range from 2.7 to 6.9N, so that you users create the right feel for any field of application or individual key positions.
The design is completely closed and incorporates gold contacts for maximum switching reliability in hostile environments.
The working life ranges from 250,000 to 1 million operations, depending on the selected operating force.
And now the new materials used extend the operating temperature range to -40 to +90C.
As Micon 5 keyswitches are usually combined with other components on a common PCB, users can adjust the height with plug-on plungers.
Keycaps with light conductors are also offered so that users can realise various illuminated options.
The Micon 5 is available in both SMD-J and through-hole pin types; it is delivered in either blister reel (SMD version) or tube (pin version) packaging.
Rafi offers the Micon 5 as a single component or installed into customer-specific systems.
