Featuring increased test automation capabilities, OEMs are able to reduce test cycle times, accelerate time to market and reduce costs.
The TestQuest Pro Version 5.0 enhancements include Symbian OS software connectivity and intelligent text recognition.
The TestQuest Interface for Symbian OS provides connectivity to Symbian OS-based phones and applications, to permit automation of "black box" functional and regression testing.
Symbian OS is the global industry standard operating system for advanced data-enabled mobile phones TestQuest Pro Version 5.0 also features Windows XP host support and enhancements to TestQuest Pro's Microsoft mobile connectivity for pocket PC, Windows Mobile, Windows CE and smartphone.
TestQuest automated test solutions are used by five of the world's six largest handset manufacturers and three of its top wireless communications providers.
Unlike other test automation tools, TestQuest offers nonintrusive testing of mobile and wireless devices; a scripting architecture that allows test cases to be shared across different organisations such as a service provider and a handset manufacturer; and a test environment that mirrors the actual user experience.
TestQuest's OS-independent, automated testing technology supports comprehensive end-to-end testing across a wide variety of different devices and applications.

The new Version 5.0 release adds further value to TestQuest's test automated solutions for handset manufacturers, wireless service providers, application developers and others in the highly competitive mobile and wireless industry.

TestQuest Pro mirrors the user's actions, controlling and verifying the phone's operation via serial, infra-red and Bluetooth transports.
The Symbian agent is currently available for Series 60 1.x and 2.x phones, with interfaces for UIQ phones available soon.
Emulators also can be used in place of the actual device.
