Thick-film resistors tackle powerful
tasks
The surface-mount SMHP series of TO263-packaged resistors will find application in areas such as switching power supplies, inrush current suppressors, snubbers and current limiters.
The wide range of noninductive, planar thick-film power resistors from TT Electronics BI Technologies has been extended with the introduction of the surface-mount SMHP series Rated at 20W, these TO263-packaged resistors will find application in areas such as switching power supplies, inrush current suppressors, snubbers and current limiters

Resistors boast superior thermal performance
A new series of noninductive power resistors come with power ratings from 20 to 140W in popular transistor-style packages.
The BI Technologies' range of power resistors now includes the BPC, BPR, BHP and MHP vertical-mounting models and the new SMHP series.
Nonflammable and with a low thermal resistance, the SMHP resistors are capable of withstanding peak currents up to 15 times their rated value for 8ms and are available in resistances from 0.01ohm to 100kohm, with a tolerance of +/-5% (standard) and +/-1% (optional).
Maximum operating voltage is 300V, dielectric strength 1500V, maximum temperature coefficient of resistance is 100ppm/C and operating temperature range is -55 to +155C.
Lead material is tin plated copper alloy and substrate material 96% alumina.
The resistors, which are supplied in trays of 50, are manufactured in the ISO9001/TS16949-approved plant of TT Electronics BI Technologies in Glenrothes, Scotland.
