Planar resistors boast high power
density
A new range planar power resistors are ideal for applications in switching power supplies, snubber circuits, inrush current suppressors, audio crossover circuits and current limiters.
The MHP range of thick-film nonflammable TO220-packaged planar power resistors from BI Technologies are ideal for applications in switching power supplies, snubber circuits, inrush current suppressors, audio crossover circuits and current limiters Major features include high power density and low thermal resistance.Their vertical mounting ensures good heat dissipation without the need for high-temperature solder and saves valuable board space

Power resistors take heatsinks onboard
A new range of 20W TO220 planar power resistors with integral heatsinks has been released by TT Electronics-BI Technologies.
Capable of withstanding peak currents up to 15 times their rated values for 8ms, the MHP resistors are available in resistances ranging from 0.01ohm to 100kohm, with a tolerance of +/-5% (optional +/-1 and +/-2%).
Temperature coefficient of resistance is +/-100ppm/C.
Power rating is 20W at 250C, maximum operating voltage 500V, dielectric withstanding voltage 1500V and operating temperature range -55 to +155C.
The MHP resistors are manufactured in the ISO9001/TS16949-approved plant of TT Electronics BI Technologies in Glenrothes, Scotland, and are supplied in trays of 50.
