Smallest claim for full Bluetooth module

TTI is working closely with Murata to bring cutting edge Bluetooth components to the marketplace.

Showing its commitment to providing solutions for short distance wireless connectivity, TTI is working closely with Murata, a leading developer in this exciting area, to bring cutting edge Bluetooth components to the marketplace Murata has created Blue Module, the world's smallest Bluetooth module, enabling those incorporating Bluetooth into their products to achieve compact size and low weight desirable factors for wireless products

TTI will be offering the Bluetooth module for use in applications such as electronic POS, general security, set top boxes, data processing, PBX equipment, displays, medical equipment and automotive applications embracing navigation, control systems, DAB and DARS.

Additionally, PCMCIA, RS2B dongles and compact flash are adaptive card and "plug in" applications, enabling customers to adapt older technology without having to purchase a whole new setup.

Murata's ultra small, complete HCI (Host Controller Interface) module LMBT027/028 uses low temperature cofired ceramic (LTTC) technology to achieve a high degree of integration, and combines both active devices (ICs) and passive components with a single multilayer ceramic substrate.

The result, supporting USB and UART interfaces is a Bluetooth module that provides a quick solution for designing Bluetooth qualified products.

To achieve the smallest Bluetooth module, the passive components and matching circuits are integrated within the substrate of the chip, making it both a carrier of the IC and a functional device.

Traditionally, most design engineers place the IC on a PCB and mount the supporting passives, memory and matching elements.

With Murata's product, all the components are already integrated into a single surface-mount ceramic chip.

Aside from the benefit of a smaller size, reduced burden to the design engineer, and reduced inspection time, sourcing and inventory costs can be reduced because the all-in-one device eliminates the line item cost of managing several part numbers on a bill of materials.

Design engineers no longer have to source and mount several components to achieve the desired solution.

With Murata's complete package, they have the freedom to focus on their core competencies.

Additionally, as an important aid for developers, TTI is able to supply Murata's Bluetooth evaluation board.

Available with or without antenna, the board is an essential component for Bluetooth development use. Request a free brochure from TTI Europe ...
