Capacitor design prevents surface arcs

The HVArc Guard internal structure inherently enables higher capacitances to be manufactured.

Vishay surface-mount X7R multilayer ceramic chip capacitors (MLCCCs) now have an internal design structure that prevents surface arc over at high voltages The VJ1206, VJ1210, VJ1808 and VJ1812 HVArc Guard MLCCs also deliver maximum capacitance in high-voltage ratings and increased capacitor voltage breakdown

The HVArc Guard internal structure inherently enables higher capacitances to be manufactured.

It also facilitates the use of smaller case sizes in high-voltage devices, enabling end-device miniaturisation and reduced component cost.

HVArc Guard MLCCs are optimised for use in buck and boost DC/DC convertors, voltage multipliers for flyback convertors and lighting ballast circuits.
