API puts mobile phone users on the game
TTPCom has developed a new platform it says will deliver an unrivalled gaming experience to all parties in the mobile phone community.
TTPCom has provided Mobilian with greater flexibility and faster time-to-market for their TrueRadio product, which combines Bluetooth and Wi-Fi", said Neil Werdmuller, Head of Wireless Networking at TTPCom.
He continued, "TTPCom has significant experience in Bluetooth technology, having contributed to the 1.1 specification.
We are involved in the working groups that are evolving the Bluetooth specification beyond 1.1, so that we also have excellent visibility of the future Bluetooth roadmap".
TTPCom technology will be used in Mobilian's first product, TrueRadio.
TrueRadio is Mobilian's first step towards realising the TrueConnectivity vision - to enable computing and communications devices to automatically detect wireless networking opportunities, select the best ones, and connect to them seamlessly and reliably.
The TrueRadio system comprises all functional blocks needed to design a complete wireless subsystem for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
This includes analogue and digital ICs, firmware, host software, antenna support, and cost- optimised reference designs for miniPCI and Cardbus (PCMCIA).
Initially TrueRadio will be used in laptop computers.
"With strong growth forecasted for both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi technologies, customers are demanding solutions that work together seamlessly, reliably and cost effectively", said Frank D Hanzlik, Mobilian Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
"By delivering the industry's first two-chip solution with simultaneous operation, TrueRadio will set the benchmark in performance, integration, and end-user experience.
For the first time, users can now experience 'coexistence without compromise'".
"TTPCom was able to demonstrate a proven track record of delivering Intellectual Property for wireless solutions, and supporting their customers through the approval process to product completion", continued Hanzlik.
"Therefore, choosing TTPCom represented a good choice for us to reduce project risk", he added.
