TTPCom has developed a new platform it says will deliver an unrivalled gaming experience to all parties in the mobile phone community.
The new office is based in Shanghai and will initially function as a technical support centre working closely with TTPCom's customers and with network operators to reduce the time it takes to launch the latest innovative handsets in the Chinese market.
"China is an extremely important market for TTPCom and one in which we have a long-term commitment.
We offer Chinese handset manufacturers a completely independent source of the technology needed to develop mobile devices - whether that is mobile phones, wireless PDAs or modules", stated Richard Fry, Sales and Marketing Director for TTPCom.

TTPCom's regional headquarters is in Singapore, and Dr Miles Upton, Director, TTPCom Asia, explained, "The licensing of wireless communications technology is an incredibly complex business in which no two implementations of the technology are the same.
During the product development phase therefore we need to work closely with our customers, particularly on field trials, to ensure that their products work on all networks.
With over 12 years experience in licensing GSM technology and with over 40 licensees of our GSM/GPRS platforms worldwide, TTPCom has a solid and proven track record in the wireless communications market.
This new office is all about using this experience to support our customers and enable them to get their products to market more quickly".
In addition to licensing technology to domestic Chinese producers, TTPCom also works with a number of overseas manufacturers who are marketing products in China.
These include Pantech (supplier to TCL and Soutec), Garmin (GSM/GPS phone), LG Electronics (supplier to EastCom), and Innostream (supplier to Legend).
All require close technical support in China to ensure that their latest products meet the type approval requirements of the Chinese network operators.
Wang Yun, General Manager, TTPCom China stated: "We chose Shanghai as our base in China because of its central location, ease of access to existing customers, links with foreign companies and ready availability of skilled engineers".
In the six months ended 30th September 2002, more than half of TTPCom's revenue came from Asia (including Japan), and the region continues to be of increasing importance to the company.
