Show skips 2002: organiser blames 11th September
Electronics World Expo (EWEX) is moving dates from June 2002 to February 2003.
Electronics World Expo (EWEX) is moving dates from June 2002 to February 2003.
The event will remain at Earls Court 2 and will now run from 4th to 5th February.
Organisers Turret RAI acquired the Electronics Component Industries Fair (ECIF) and OnBoard, the electronics production and assembly show, in December last year from Evan Steadman Productions.
The events were combined with EDA Expo to create a single design-to-manufacture event for the electronics industry.
"The plan to hold EWEX in June this year was too ambitious just nine months after the previous events", says Sarah Williams, event director.
"After the events of 11th September, the industry is just going to write off this year - so this gives us a much better timescale to create the event the industry needs".
Electronics World Expo 2003 will bring the industry together in a convention environment, with a major seminar programme, themed 'villages' including the rework and repair clinic, a working production line and the smart optics theatre plus lots of new features, and a lively social programme.
