Environmental test lab opens for business
TUV America has opened a new state-of-the-art environmental testing facility at its Twin Cities location in New Brighton
TUV America, a global testing and certification services firm, has opened a new state-of-the-art environmental testing facility at its Twin Cities location in New Brighton, MN.
The new laboratory is outfitted with the most advanced equipment to perform dynamic, climatic and package testing to national, international and industry-based standards.
The new laboratory will help manufacturers of aerospace, defence, medical, IT, automotive and other equipment to perform critical environmental tests in order to ensure that their products meet compliance specifications.
TUV America's environmental services include climatic testing (wind, temperature, altitude, humidity, salt fog, thermal vacuum, rain, etc), dynamic testing (random and sine vibration, shock, etc) and package testing (compression, transportation vibration, drop, etc).
In addition, COTS Testing, Highly-Accelerated Life Testing (HALT) and Highly-Accelerated Stress Screening (HASS) services are available.
The space was custom-built to accommodate equipment specifically developed for environmental testing including several temperature/humidity chambers, a walk-in temperature-humidity chamber, temperature altitude chamber, thermal vacuum/space simulator, thermal shock chamber, fast change-rate temperature cycling chambers, Agree chambers, a salt fog chamber, a wind and rain system, vibration systems, drop, bounce and shock machines, a transportation simulator and more.
These assets provide TUV with the capabilities to test to standards such as: RTCA/DO-160, MIL-STD-810, EUROCAE/ED-14E, SAE, Bellcore, and more.
"For many manufacturers, environmental and EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) testing go hand-in-hand," said Kevin Larson, TUV America EMC Product Director.
"Our new environmental lab perfectly complements our existing EMC testing facility, offering customers a single location with all of the high-tech capabilities they require".
"We are pleased to offer our clients increased flexibility, time and resource savings and ultimately the opportunity to get their products to market faster".
All of TUV's testing is networked and computer-assisted, ensuring accurate, consistent results.
The equipment employs fully programmable controls, temperature failsafe capabilities and CFC-free refrigerants.
Plus, TUV America holds numerous accreditations, ensuring integrity, accountability, and the highest level of quality.
