Field evaluation services expand to
Ontario
TUV America has been approved to perform field evaluations within the scope of the SPE-1000-99 on uncertified equipment to the requirements of Canadian Electric Code Rule 2-024.
TUV America has been approved by the Electrical Safety Authority of Ontario, Canada to perform field evaluations within the scope of the CSA Special Publication SPE-1000-99 on uncertified equipment to the requirements of Canadian Electric Code Rule 2-024 According to Rule 2-024, an accredited certification body such as TUV America must approve all electrical equipment used in Canada

TUV SUD America now offers all related services for compliance with the new EMC Directive having been nominated as a US Conformity Assessment Body.
"Field evaluation services are becoming quite common as companies are using more customised equipment", stated Dr Ulf Schmidt, Product Director at TUV America.
"We are pleased to offer our field evaluation services to the province of Ontario and we look forward to future expansion of these services".
Field evaluation services are most often required when an organisation has purchased used or custom-built equipment, reinstalls existing equipment or relocates it to a new city, town or jurisdiction.
TUV America will inspect such equipment, verify that it meets local electrical safety requirements and affix a field label to the equipment signifying that it has been approved for use by an accredited agency.
"The Ontario field evaluation accreditation allows TUV America to aggressively target the Canadian market with competitive, responsive and high-quality inspection services", stated Rafaat B Ludin, NAFTA Field Evaluation Manager at TUV America.
