TI has been displaying many of these video surveillance solutions this week at ISC West 2007 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
"The video surveillance market is undergoing rapid change as intelligent cameras proliferate many diverse markets", said Danny Petkevich, Video Security Business Manager, TI.
"By giving customers a range of third party solutions, we are answering their demands for flexibility to customise their products and accelerating time to market, while leveraging the leading video performance of DaVinci technology".
eInfochips, a leading chip and product design services company with "spec-to-silicon-to-system" capabilities, leveraged DaVinci technology to deliver the IPNetCam reference design, one of the world's first camera reference designs to feature dual video streaming with multiple codecs.
The camera uses ObjectVideo OnBoard, the industry-leading technology for video content analysis that allows rule-based object detection, classification, tracking and real-time alerting.
Equipped with two sensor inputs and two alarm outputs, the camera can be used for triggering external devices for ObjectVideo alerts.
An SD memory card support allows pre- and post-event recording.
Mango DSP, a leading provider of advanced video solutions for the CCTV, video surveillance, homeland security and defence markets, leveraged DaVinci technology to launch the Pegasus Embedded Solution, an intelligent video server (IVS), especially designed for OEMs, ODMs and third party integration.
Mango's new solution is comprised of the Pegasus video server and the Mango DSP, patent pending, intelligent video software based on DaVinci technology, which is designed to deliver a comprehensive solution for the unique requirements of the camera manufacturers for the homeland security and surveillance markets.
Pegasus has an open API and the Mango intelligent video software enables fast and simple integration for video content analysis providers, making the Pegasus a common video analytic platform for camera manufacturers.
The Pegasus is also equipped with a Micron CMOS sensor allowing off the shelf, customised solutions and is packaged in a very small form factor, enabling integration to a large variety of cameras.
Nuvation, a leading electronics design services firm, used TI's DaVinci technology and expressDSP digital media software to introduce a new, ultracompact IP camera reference design that compresses real-time, full-colour 720x480 (D1) video in H.264 format and streams video over Ethernet at 30 frames per second.
Based on TI's TMS320DM6446 digital media processor based on DaVinci technology, Nuvation's IP camera supports flexible video encoder solutions from TI including H.264, MPEG-4/H.263 and JPEG.
It can also be configured with custom or licensable video content since TI's digital signal processor (DSP)-based solutions can add additional features like dual or tri streams, video analytics and fuse codecs, resolutions and frame rates based on the manufacturer's end application requirements.
The union of TI's DaVinci technology and these leading, third-party reference design providers answer the demand from video surveillance manufacturers for easy-to-use, powerful solutions that differentiate their products and speed them to market with a variety of intelligent video applications.
TI's video surveillance solutions are primarily based on high performance media processors that have on-chip video ports for easy connection to video devices.
The DM64x devices are capable of handling both video and audio encode and decode for IP-based video surveillance applications.
Cost competitive video compression and decompression algorithms are available through TI or the DSP Third Party Network for JPEG, MPEG2, MPEG4, H.264 and more.
