High-speed USB 2.0 On-The-Go dual-role controller provides flexible architecture to meet a multitude of customer-defined applications.

Texas Instruments has introduced a high-speed Universal Serial Bus (USB) 2.0 On-The-Go (OTG) dual-role controller that provides flexible architecture to meet a multitude of customer-defined applications It can operate either as a function controller for a USB peripheral or as the host/peripheral in point-to-point or multipoint communications

This low-power device's idle mode operating at less than 100uA will extend battery life in consumer devices, such as mobile handsets, portable media players or video applications.

The TUSB6020 is a compact solution for space-conscious equipment and comes in the industry's smallest 5 x 5mm package.

It is certified to be compliant with the USB 2.0 OTG specification by the USB Implementer's Forum to help ensure interoperability with other USB devices.

Its integrated USB 2.0 PHY provides design flexibility with one-port operation at a low speed of 1.5Mbit/s, full speed of 12Mbit/s and high speed of 480Mbit/s.

The VLYNQT serial interface allows seamless interface to any VLYNQ-enabled application processor without loading the GPMC or EMIF ports.

The TUSB6020 will add high-speed USB capability to any TMS320DM643x DaVinci technology-based product.

The TUSB6020 is available now in either an 80-pin TQFP package or MicroStar BGA/MicroStar Junior ZQE package.

Suggested resale pricing in 100-unit quantities is US $7.50.

In addition, samples and DM643x DaVinci software development kit daughtercard evaluation modules are available online.
