Switch to a quieter automotive relay
Ideal for use in the passenger compartment, V23145-A0101-A303 micro silent relays feature a noise level of under 50dB(A), compared with the typical 65dB(A) of a standard relay.

Filtered inlets handle more power
IEC inlet filter features a two-stage construction, HF screening and high-quality components, making it ideal for noise attenuation up to 1GHz.
RF relays handle higher frequencies
Latest additions to the range are designed for 50 or 75ohm impedance applications and a frequency range of 200MHz to 6GHz.
Such low levels have been achieved through an innovative design, which uses special armature that operates without impact to the core and does not touch the frame, thus removing one of the principle noise sources, namely that of armature-core impact.
The new design also boasts a unique motor-spring adaptation that results in less excess energy being expended, and thus significantly quieter contact collision.
Traditionally quiet relays involve secondary sound damping and encapsulation being applied to a standard relay.
This solution incurs additional parts and processes as well as an efficiency penalty, when compared to Tyco Electronics' silent relay design.
Vibration analysis shows a significant improvement when compared to traditional silent relays.
Other advantages include optimised performance and efficiency in typical automotive applications, miniature size, and a low risk implementation, especially when compared with semiconductor solutions.
On the energising side, key specifications include 12V nominal voltage, minimum release voltage of 1.0V, coil resistance of 100 +/-10ohm, nominal power consumption of 1.3W, thermal resistance of 40K/W, -40 to 85C temperature range and a maximum switching rate without contact loading of 20Hz.
Typical operate and release times are 10ms each.
On the contact side, voltage drop at 10A is around 20mV and mechanical endurance without load is over one million cycles.
Designed for a variety of automotive applications, V23145-A0101-A303 micro silent relays from Tyco Electronics have been tested for a harsh operating conditions to specific standards for vibration resistance, corrosive gas, damp heat, temperature cycling, load dump, drop test and climatic cycling with condensation.
Some typical applications include wiper speed selection, seat heating, rear window heating lamp loads, seat belt fastening, audio systems fuel pumps, ignition immobilisers, and head light dipping, to mention a few. Request a free brochure from Tyco Electronics UK ...
