Now available from Tyco Electronics, the Holtite socket is part of the renowned Augat brand, which today claims the widest range of products available on the market.
Using existing plated through-hole PCB holes, Holtite offers designers of high-density systems a way of socketing standard or nonstandard devices with zero profile above the PCB.
The sockets press-in to the existing plated through hole, requiring no soldering.
In addition, by offering total flexibility in terms of socket layout, Holtite is ideal for applications that require custom socket layouts.
To address thermal issues associated with certain components, this Augat brand socket, with no inherent plastic carrier, maximises heat dissipation around the device.
Holtite also minimises the component lead lengths required for socketing, thus minimising any potential impedance effects.
The precision-machined four-finger contact, in tin or gold plated beryllium copper alloy, ensures unmatched contact integrity.
The sockets are designed for automatic assembly and are available on tape and reel for auto-insertion equipment.
