Part of the popular Alcoswitch brand, the FSM CT is the latest low-profile tactile switch range from Tyco Electronics.

They feature small size with a surface area of 4.9 by 4.9mm and a low profile of just 1.7mm, making them ideal for a variety of diverse applications.

More, the switches have been designed for the white goods market, used in "light touch" supermarket cash registers and washing machine controls as well as in the consumer, industrial market and commercial electronic products.

A key benefit for engineers is the low profile, which enables the FSM tactile switches to be placed below switch foils or keypads.

All three switch types operate over -25 to +70C.

The range is offered with a choice of two operating actuation forces of 160 and 260g.

In terms of life expectancy, the switches are quoted at 100,000 cycles.
