Tyco Electronics and RS components have signed an agreement that formalises the relationship between the companies for all of RS Components' operating companies in UK, Europe and Asia.

As Tyco Electronics' biggest distributor, RS Components currently hold over 2500 Tyco products in its product portfolio, including AMP, Schrack, Greenpar, Augat, and Ansley.

The agreement was officially signed at Electrocomponents Global Headquarters in Oxford between Tony Gatt, Vice President Global Industrial and Commercial Business Unit, EMEA of Tyco Electronics and Klaus Goeldenbot, General Manager, Product Management of RS Components.

Gatt comments: "By formalising our relationship with RS, we are looking to further leverage the quality and service offered by RS Components and build on this platform to take the relationship and our sales levels forward.

RS Components provide us with an effective channel that addresses design engineers, repair and maintenance as well as interesting possibilities through their extensive catalogue coverage across Europe and Asia".

Goeldenbot adds: "RS Components is pleased to cement an excellent relationship and looks forward to expanding on key synergies between Tyco Electronics and itself.

As an industry leader, Tyco Electronics' brands are very much in demand from our customers, evidenced by the rapid rise of RS Components in 2001 to Tyco Electronics largest UK distributor in an overall channel that grew by around 55%".
