Backshells provide all-round D-sub screening
ADK Series backshells are available in four shell sizes to suit 9 to 37 position D-sub connectors.
Combining a modern attractive design with the performance and durability of a die-cast construction, the ADK Series of backshells from Tyco Electronics are available in four shell sizes to suit 9 to 37 position D-sub connectors.
Typical applications include high-integrity data links in applications such as computer peripherals, industrial equipment, medical and instrumentation.
Lightweight, yet cost-effective, the backshells feature straight or 45-degree cable entry, rugged and compact design as well as excellent EMI/RFI shielding performance.
They are suitable for a range of cable sizes and boast a unique metal filled cable grommet that ensures 360-degree shielding.
Technical specifications include a zinc die cast, nickel-plated construction, -40 to +120C temperature range, 4.0 to 13.0mm cable diameter and an attenuation factor of over 40dB between 30MHz and 1GHz.
The backshells meet the requirements of VDE0871, FCC20780 and 89/336/EU.
ADK backshells come as a complete kit comprising shells, jackscrews and four sizes of cable grommets.
In addition, available as an upgrade to the standard product is a high performance cable crimp kit offering a full crimped termination to the cable braid for greater screening integrity and enhanced cable strain relief.
