A low-cost enhancement to the highly successful 5mm range from Tyco Electronics, the PCN relay takes up minimal PCB real estate.

A low-cost enhancement to the highly successful 5mm range from Tyco Electronics, the PCN relay takes up minimal PCB real-estate in applications such as heating controllers, interface elements, timers, PLCs and microPLCs, I/O modules and I/O ports.

Configured as a single pole, NO (normally open) contact, the relay has a rated switching current of 3A, with a load range from 1mA to 3A.

The PCN relay features a bifurcated AgNi, cadmium free contact, rated voltage of 250V AC, maximum breaking voltage of 277V AC, maximum breaking capacity of 1250VA, nominal coil voltage of 5 to 24V DC, nominal coil power of 120mW and a minimum contact load of 5V/1mA.

Dielectric strength between coil and contacts is 3000V RMS.

Clearance/creepage is 3.5mm.

Weighing just 3g, the relays conform to flammability class UL94V0 and are insulated to IEC664 and VDE0110.

Other features include an operating temperature range of -30 to +70C, mechanical life of 20 million operations and a bounce time of less than 1ms.

PCN relays are washtight to protection category IEC61810.
