Greenpar comes back with low-cost coax connectors
A new family of coax connectors, specifically designed to meet the price-performance requirements of commercial RF applications has been announced by Tyco Electronics.
The captive contact feature positively retains the centre contact in a fixed position within the connector by means of shoulders on the contacts.
Further, combing and trimming of the cable braid is no longer required, greatly reducing, if not eliminating, the possibility of "shorting" inside the connector.
After the cable has been prepared and soldered to the centre contact, the clamp nut is tightened, pressing firmly against the cable jacket, resulting in a positive termination, which can withstand a pull on the cable greater than the inherent strength of the cable itself.
These cable clamping mechanisms can be disassembled and reused.
Further, no special tools are required for assembly. Request a free brochure from Tyco Electronics UK ...
