Filtered inlets handle more power
IEC inlet filter features a two-stage construction, HF screening and high-quality components, making it ideal for noise attenuation up to 1GHz.
RF relays handle higher frequencies
Latest additions to the range are designed for 50 or 75ohm impedance applications and a frequency range of 200MHz to 6GHz.
Board space is therefore at a premium, creating the need to combine the RF and power into a single connector system.
The Greenpar higher current MCX connector solution from Tyco Electronics provides design and development engineers with a single solution to this growing requirement by eliminating the traditional power connector.
To meet this need, the connector system is available as a SMD PCB-mounted socket and straight cable plug.
Use of Tyco Electronics' Raychem brand Cheminax cable offers the designer optimum performance in these and similar applications.
The power rating of this system is 3A with peak periods at 5A, compared with the standard MCX connector which is rated at 1A.
The new Greenpar higher current MCX connector solution from Tyco Electronics uses the standard microminiature MCX RF connectors.
Offering size benefits over alternative connectors, the standard MCX connectors are mechanically robust, with beryllium-copper spring fingers rated at a minimum of 500 mating cycles.
The snap-on interface facilitates assembly, eliminating the need for a threaded connection, and ensuring full engagement.
The interface is compliant with CECC 22 2200.
Product specifications and qualification test reports for the Greenpar higher current MCX connector system are available from Tyco Electronics.
The product supports the use of standard tooling for cable assembly. Request a free brochure from Tyco Electronics UK ...
