Stripper speeds crimping process

A new development from Tyco Electronics represents a significant step forward in crimp press technology.

A new development from Tyco Electronics represents a significant step forward in crimp press technology By introducing a new stripping attachment, which can be added to currently available equipment, Tyco Electronics now offers a system which delivers substantial benefits in terms of productivity and performance, by providing an efficient and economical method of stripping wire and crimping terminals on the same machine

Able to be installed in the field or available as a single unit from the factory, the Tyco Electronics Stripping Module can be added to Tyco's Entry Level Terminator (ELT) or AMP-O-LECTRIC Model G Terminator.

It operates in three separate modes: crimp only, strip only, and crimp and strip, while accepting both end and side feed, heavy-duty style, quick-change applicators.

The module features specially designed stripper jaws, allowing the operator to "fan" or "sweep" leads after termination, to provide high throughput coupled with ease of operation.

Footswitch or sensor activated, the product provides fast applicator changeover and easy adjustment, together with a step mode for quick set-up.

A controlled air blast ejects discarded slugs into a collection tray, and the module also contains interlock guards.

Operational noise levels - at operator position with standard mechanical feed applicator - are below 76dBa.

Accepting a wire range of 0.03 to 2.0mmę (32-14 AWG) the module supports a maximum insulation diameter of 5.08mm, strip lengths from 2.5 to 10.16mm, and cable breakouts of less than 28mm.

The stripper itself weighs 1kg - at a height of 127mm - and requires a single phase current of 100-240V AC, 50/80Hz with an air supply of 620-780kPa at 2.83litre/s.

The module is also compatible with Tyco Crimp Quality Monitors. Request a free brochure from Tyco Electronics - Global Application Tooling ...
