A system representing a major advance in the quality control of wire termination is now available from Tyco Electronics.
Offering fully automatic control of parameters such as speed, force and height during operation, the Manta can support a variety of cycle termination techniques, including press to height.
To ensure extremely accurate levels of performance, the versatile servo press employs advanced PCM (press quality monitoring) quality control on min/max force and seated height.
Incorporating a C-frame "flat-rock" design with 305mm (12in) throat depth, the Manta uses real time SPC X-bar and R-charts - together with CPK - and provides PCB tracking by serial number, enabling 100% traceability on every component placed.
Capable of exerting a force of up to 9kN, the press is available with a number of production accessories, including barcode serial number entry, touch screen monitor, ergonomic air table and a number of turnkey tooling packages.
