A new hand tool from Tyco Electronics is claimed to represent a significant step forward in crimp and die technology.

Combining high functionality and flexibility with advanced levels of user-friendliness, the FFC Four-Out hand tool enables concurrent application of four terminals on a 2.54mm pitch.

The device is ergonomically designed for increased operator comfort, and provides a high-quality, cost-effective crimping solution.

Ideal for low volume production, the FFC Four-Out hand tool operates with individual contacts inserted into the terminal fixture and then rotated into the crimp area.

After the terminals are in place, the FFC foil is inserted and all contacts are crimped at the same time.

As part of Tyco Electronics' advanced FFC range, the new FFC Four-Out hand tool supplements the recently launched FFC Terminator bench machine.

Designed to deliver fast and accurate terminations, the electrically driven semi-automatic assembly bench machine terminates up to 38 FFC contacts onto foil (within the same machine cycle), to deliver a high quality and precisely repeatable termination process.
