Tyco Electronics has added braided sleevings to its Raychem range of overprotection products for electrical harnesses and fluid management systems.

Tyco Electronics has added braided sleevings to its Raychem range of overprotection products for electrical harnesses and fluid management systems.

The company now boasts a complete overprotection product offering, encompassing cold applied braids, heat-shrinkable polyolefin tubings and heat-shrinkable woven fabric sleeves.

The new, lightweight Rayflex expandable braids offer excellent abrasion and cut-through resistance and retain their flexibility, even at low temperature.

These sleeves expand easily to fit over tubular or irregular shapes and then contract for a snug fit onto their host.

Unaffected by most chemicals and solvents, they offer excellent protection to wire harnesses, hoses and flexible pipework across a wide range of applications in commercial electronics, automotive, industrial and military equipment manufacturing.

Both the standard PET braid and the flame retardant PFR option are available in eight sizes to accommodate a wide range of diameters from 2.4 to 76mm.

The addition of braids to the Raychem overprotection product range is just the first in a series of new introductions planned this year, which will include noise/rattle suppression and thermal protection products.

By providing a complete choice of overprotection methods, Tyco Electronics is able to offer its customers impartial advice on the optimum solution for any particular application.
