The advanced Raychem MTC interconnection system, from Tyco Electronics, is a complete modular connector system comprising lightweight, environmentally sealed miniature rectangular connectors and individually removable rear release contacts.

Designed for commercial and military avionics applications, they feature an optional removable plastic grounding block which simplifies the grounding of shields to the high density shallow connector, using standard crimp contacts, and also allows re-entry for repairs or removal and retrofit of contacts.

MTC connectors are available with quick disconnect mating hardware, EME shielding accessories and modular inserts that can accommodate a mix of signal and power crimp contacts and one-step coaxial solder contacts.

The need for special termination tooling has been minimised, simplifying manufacturing and maintenance techniques.

MTC connectors are available in 1 and 2in configurations.

Modular removable inserts with size 22 and/or size 16 contact cavities can be combined into these 1 and 2in housings.

Tyco Electronics offers its MTC technology as interconnection components or as complete custom-built harness systems through its subassembly contracting service.
